Christmas Letter 2024

Thomas and Noni Ramundo - Christmas 2024

God sent sages a star, shepherds a song, sinners a Savior! Glory to God in the highest!

2024 has been a full year for our tribe. After years in the medical world, our son-in-law, Bob, decided it was time to retire and enjoys both a part time job and working on his three British classic cars. Bob’s wife, our daughter, R.N. Theresa, completed her MSN and continues in her role as the Clinical Nurse Manager of the 7th floor at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. Their daughter, Natalie, works in the Summit Township Offices, creates online curriculum for her alma mater, Cornerstone University, produces a daily video spot for the Christian children’s program, “Keys for Kids,” and is the youth director at her church, The Summit. She also purchased her first home. Her brother, Baily, lavishes his mechanical gifts on his job and pick-up, loves riding his Harley, helps with the teens at Jackson Free Methodist and assists his sister with the youth at her church.

For our daughter Christy, who works for the hospital, the high point of the year came when she won a seat on the Jackson City Council in a 61% of the vote landslide! She is immersed in the world of local and state politics and has been an organizer in community improvement efforts. She also plays the drums and sings in the worship team at The Summit church. Her 11-year-old Brooke enjoys 5th grade, soccer, gymnastics, table games with grandma Noni, and Girl Scouts. Her mom is the troop leader.

In August, Noni and I celebrated our 55th Anniversary with several days of hiking and biking (the kind you pedal) in Michigan’s beautiful upper peninsula and on Mackinac Island.

A highlight of the year was the two months—February and October—we taught at our Free Methodist Great Commission Bible School in Malawi. Noni put her education degree to work creatively teaching English and I taught two Bible courses each time. A highlight of October’s trip was working with the principal, his wife, and our students to plant a church in an isolated village (no cars, no electricity, no church, walk to the river for water and miles to the nearest market). The first weekend 420 villagers turned out for a Saturday night outdoor showing of the “Jesus Film” in their language, Chichewa. The first worship service was held the next morning. Over the weekend many came to Christ, and now a burgeoning congregation meets each week. We love the school, the students, and others who teach and work there. Lord willing, we’ll be back in 2025!

Our ministry here in the U.S. continues to keep us on the road most weekends and sometimes as much as a month at a time. This year has taken us from Washington State to New York State and many points in between. We continue doing our “Prayer Warrior Boot Camp,” and for churches that invite us back for our sequel to that, “Intercession Infantry Training Camp.” Soon we will be unveiling our third weekend prayer event. We also minister in a variety of other settings and services. By November I had spoken 164 times since January 1.

It has been exciting the way the Lord has been nudging us more into missions. And along with going, we have done some fundraising. We have raised $50,715 this year toward projects in Malawi, Pakistan, and Thailand. And that is in addition to the Lord blessing us with funds for our ministry around the U.S. By the way, this year my book, The Prayer Life You’ve Always Wanted, was translated in Pakistan into their language, Urdu.

One Hand in His Hand, the Other on the Throttle, and My Arm Around Noni,

Thomas J. Ramundo
