So prayer...first prayer journal October 31, 2021
Tom Welter and I were distant. Nothing in common but our address, last name and two kids!
Really!
For some reason, I picked up this empty blue journal that I purchased at a garage sale and I started writing in it. After I filled the journal, 8 months later, I named the journal & "Prayers of desperation; fighting on my knees. Cries of my heart."
Here are a few lines from the first couple months:
"Father, I seek your restoration in my marriage to love my husband the way he needs to be
loved! Change me!"
"I ask father for life-changing, love renewal, spousal respect, growing faith and to be filled with wisdom by the Holy Spirit."
"Lord, I ask that you guide me. Help me, restore me, take the blinders off of me, clothe me in
your armor and give me knowledge that only can come from the Holy Spirit. Help me to love my husband the way he needs and deserves to be loved. Help my husband love and cherish me. Help any areas of weakness. Please fill us with only things you approve. Take the scales off of our eyes and unite Tom and so that we can fight this battle together. Keep us in your will and cover us in your protection. Open our ears and our eyes. And move our hands and feet."
It wasn't until years later, I went through the journal, and I started to underline all of the
answered prayer. After about a quarter of the way in I realized there's too much to underline. I would be underlining page after page after page.
I wanted to share this because the cries of our hearts are heard by a living God!
In 2020, he/the Lord, told me to begin praying for my husband and once I turned my heart
towards my marriage and prayed fervently, the Lord moved in this area.
Whatever battle, you are facing; a broken marriage, a sick child, a sick spouse, divorce, loss of a job, depression, anxiety whatever you are facing...surrender it to the Lord and turn to him with your whole heart being an open book.
He will hear, move, speak, show up. Just remember, it might not always be in the time or fashion you thought, but he will stoop down to listen.
Just...
Never give up!
Never stop praying!
Never take prayer for granted!
No prayer is too big or too small.
Pray in the car, at your desk, in bed, walking....just pray!!!
PRAY.
